Utah Guild of Heritage Artists August 2022 Newsletter

President’s Message

Wow, have we had some great rain storms and beautiful rainbows? It is already August and the Social at Kay Salisbury’s house at 2169 Creek Way on August 20th . Reminder, we will be painting on clay pots. Bring an apron to wear and bring brushes. We have a few demos painted of pots I will bring a few stencils and stencil brushes as well. Lunch will be provided by Café Rio. Hope to see you there.

On September 17th we have lined up a fun project taught by Susan Neal. Mandala painting on a stone. $15 for the class. Let Gail know or myself if you want to sign up. You will need a starter set for this class.  The kit is an additional $25 and includes everything you see pictured here, with slight changes to the templates. Order the kit from Susan at the link below.

They are priced as follows:

  •  13-piece dotting tool set
  •  2 cast and base-coated stones
  •  1 real stone
  •  Small palette and paintbrush to mix
  •  Clear acetate gift box
  •  White pencil
  •  Practice sheets
  •  Slideshow (attached to this email)

The cost of this set is $25. Send an email for a kit to: EyeQDesign@mindspring.com
and she will bring them to class.

If you already have a kit from my previous class, or if you just happen to have the tools
already, then deduct $15 from the cost.  You will then only receive the base-coated
stones and acetate gift box.

I will be bringing additional cast stones if you love them and want to do more.
However, if you know you’ll want them, I suggest you pre-order them so I can have
them ready for you.

They are priced as follows:
$3        Small Round
$5        Large Round
$5        Tall Round
$6        Large Heart, flat
$4        Large Heart, tall
$3        Small Heart, tall

$3        Small Oval

We will have a virtual seminar using a Chinese brush technique by Lorean Weng on October 22nd at Glenna’s studio. I hope you have checked out her website.
I really like the Koi fish but let us know your choice.

See you at Kay’s.

Happy Painting!
