December 2018 Newsletter

Hello all you painting ladies,

Some of you have probably already heard about Lisa's health struggle these past few weeks.  I saw Lisa at the doctor's office on November 13th and she said she was really sick.  Then I heard she was in the Lone Peak hospital with Influenza and Pneumonia.  She spent many days in the ICU on a respirator, and slept for a long time.  She is now in a rehab facility and is hoping to come home this weekend.  We wish her the best and a speedy recovery.  Loves and hugs from all of us!

The Christmas party is coming up on Decmeber 15th.  See the information below.

Glenna Nielsen, our Chapter President for next year, has put together all the projects for the whole year and she has scheduled Kirsten Birkeland to teach at the seminar in April.    (See below for more information).

Wishing you all a calm, happy, family-friendly holiday!  Keep warm, smile a lot, and buy yourself a little something special!  :)

~ Maridene

The Christmas Party is coming up on Saturday, December 15, at 12 noon at Lisa Peck's house, 939 East Old English Road, Draper, UT.  For the gift exchange, please bring a new ornament valued between $10 to $15.  Use your imagination and pick something everyone will want.  We will be drawing for the baskets at the Christmas Party.  If you haven't payed yet, please send your $25.00 to Pat McKean.

The drawing for the beautiful Service Baskets will held at the party.  If you still want to purchase tickets for the Service Project raffles, contact Betty, or buy some more tickets at the party.

January 19, 2019 Class

Judy Graham will be teaching a Palekh design on a small box.  The box will be made by Jan Pecharich.  The cost of the box will be $20.00 and the pattern will be $10.00.

If you want to order the box for this project, please call or email Pat McKean ASAP!

Judy says she used tiny liners.  When she took the class they used Raphael number 8829 in a 2 and 0.  Josonja has a new brush out number 4015 in a 10/0 that is really great.  One of the best things is to bring magnifying glasses so you can see well.

February 16, 2019 Class

Glenna Nielsen will teach a Leprechaun design on a plate.  The pattern fits a 13" plate with an 8 1/2 inch center an d a 2 1/2 rim.  The pattern can be reduced or enlarged to fit another surface.  This will be a "bring your own surface" project.  The cost of the pattern is $10.00.

March 16, 2019 Class

Kay Salisbury will teach a beautiful floral design on a round table from IKEA.  It is the same table we have painted on before.  Members can pick up their own table or Glenna offered to pick up tables for those who need one.  The tables cost around $20.00.  Patterns for the project are $10.00.
