November Newsletter

President's message

Hi all,
Welcome fall. I love the colors this time of year and the cooler temperatures.  Thanks to all who came out last month for the UFO.   And a big thanks to those who supplied lunch. It was a nice day visiting and trying to get something completed. At least for me it was an attempt, not a success. I did get further along though.  Remember to respond to the email ballot if you have not already done so.
I'm looking forward to the Candy Cane and Holly project Betty Roberts is teaching.  If you would like to paint the piece please let me know ASAP and I'll get the prep instructions to you. The pattern fits on an 8.5X11 inch paper so the surface you bring will need to be close to that.  Please join us with your own project if you are not going to paint the candy canes and holly.

Just a reminder: PAYMENT of $25 for the Christmas lunch at the Lion House is due by November 21.  Places will NOT be reserved without payment.  Christmas luncheon and ornament exchange at the Lion House will be on December 5.   Due to pricing changes there will be no favors this year. We will still have the ornament exchange.  It is always a lot of fun. I hope everyone can join us.  This will be our last year at the Lion House. (another reminder: Payment due by November 21)  Reservations for you will not be made without payment!

My messages are getting shorter as my time as president gets closer to the end. Thank you for all the support through the year. You are a great group of women.

Hope to see you all on November 21.
Betty

November Meeting

Candy Cane Basket taught by Betty Roberts

November 21, 2015 at Glenna's Studio (5145 South 2100 East, Holladay)

Betty Roberts is teaching a fun/pretty Candy Cane and Holly design.  If you are painting the project and need a pattern, contact Betty Van Pelt. $8 for pattern.  This is a chance for all of us to go through our wood supplies and paint a Christmas/Winter treasure to keep or give as a gift.

December Luncheon at the Lion House

Payment due by November 21.

December 5 - Christmas luncheon and ornament exchange.
Cost:  $25.00
Time: 12:00 noon (don't be late)
Due to a substantial increase in the costs of the Lion House, we will not be getting favors, instead the chapter will cover the price increase.   However, everyone must pay before a reservation will be made for you, we cannot afford to cover a no-show.   Please make your payments to the chapter by November 21.   I can't wait to see which ornaments are the hit this year!

Membership

Just a reminder that dues for 2016 annual membership should be paid this month.  We really get a lot out of our membership in the chapter.  Painters are such friendly people.

Don't know about everyone else, but I can't believe I'm posting the November Newsletter already!!!  I also missed the October meeting, so I don't have any pictures of the meeting.  Hope to see you all on the 21st.  I thought it might be fun to see the variety of projects that were taught this year.
