May - Newsletter

Hi all,
I was a little too focused on what was coming up last message.
I would like to thank Shara Reiner for a wonderful seminar and all those who attended for making it a fun three days.
I would like to thank Nola Phillips for teaching the beautiful plate. Everyone enjoyed themselves and most left with a finished or close to finished piece.
Zentangle apron, May 16, taught by Brenda Stott. Aprons available at Hobby Lobby. This has been a popular piece so if anyone is still interested, let me know:                                               801-699-1246 or betty84094@gmail.com
I will need to make more instruction packets. Very cute, colorful piece.
Spring/Summer themed retreat, June 25 - 27. There are a lot of fun projects. Sign-ups have started. Base price $75 for all three days. Retreat will be held at JoLynn's cabin again. Thank you very much JoLynn.  Thank you Lisa for all the work you are doing to pull this together.
Opening social, August 15, including a yard sale/bake sale to earn money for our service project. Half the money raised will go to a local charity and half to the chapter. There will be a sign-up for help pricing items the night before/set up in the morning and sales. The party portion will be catered by Kay's daughter. Save items you no longer want to help boost the donations. You can bring anything. This will be advertised to the public.
Kay will teach a winter/Christmas bucket inspired by Shara Reiner's project, September 19. This will be a free class. Bring a friend. I have some cans left or bring  your own paint can or surface.
Oct. 8 - 10, Sherry Nelson Seminar - Oil painting - 3 wonderful bird pieces, one each day. $110/day. $100 deposit BY June 1. Please get your deposits in as soon as you can.
Nov. 21,Candy canes and holly taught by Betty Roberts.
Dec. 5, Christmas/holiday party at the Lion House. Ornament exchange. Always great food and wonderful company.
Thank you all for your continued support.
Found this on a plaque.

"Life is a canvas. Throw all the paint at it you can."

Our paint-date with Nola was fun, fun, fun and very productive! What a wonderful turn out we had, thanks to all who participated and a huge 'THANK YOU' to Nola for showing up twice to teach once. (Little inside laughter)

Please let Betty VanPelt know if you will be painting along in May. She'll be happy to get the pattern and prep instructions out to you.

June Deadline
Please remember your security deposit for the Sherry Nelson seminar in October is due no later than June 1st. We are so fortunate to have her come to us. It is such a savings to each one of us by having her travel to Salt Lake.
