January 2017 Newsletter

President's Message

Hi Ladies,

Hope you had a great holiday.  I did, but now it is time to be thinking about the New Year.

I want to thank the past board for making 2016 a great year.  I know how much work goes into managing a group like this and so appreciate all that they did.  The Christmas Luncheon was great as usual and we had fun exchanging gifts.  I am sure glad everyone is a good sport about changing gifts when asked but it always seems like everyone goes home with something wonderful.

I am going to really try and have signups go early so that we can have the wood and patterns available at the meeting the month before the project is taught so it is easier for everyone to get ready for the next month.  Because the luncheon was earlier in the month the January wood was not there.  Surprisingly it actually arrived at my home that afternoon and as such we are still working on getting everyone covered. I do have one extra piece of wood for the January project so call me if you want it.  If you just want the pattern, call me and I will make an extra copy.

The wood for February is already here and will be at the January meeting for those who need it for February.

The seminar schedule is as follows:

  • January 21 – Valentine Tier taught by Sandra Boyer
  • February  18 – Apple Box taught by Lisa Peck
  • March 18 – Birds and Flowers taught by Brenda Stott – Furnish your own wood
  • April 15 – Rosemaling Tree taught by Kristen Birkeland
  • May 20 – Rosemaling basket taught by Tirzah Probasco
  • June  – Retreat
  • July – Vacation
  • August – Opening Social
  • September 16 - Halloween plate taught by Glenna Nielson
  • October 21 - Seminar with Judy Diephouse
  • November 18 - Santa plate taught by Cheri Ringger
  • December - Christmas Social

Personally I am looking forward a fun filled painting year.  Hope to see everyone at our meeting on January 21.
