Retreat Update

It is time to start getting your paints and brushes ready for a weekend of FUN! There are a few other items you might want to pack such as clean dainties and a toothbrush.
We look forward to starting the bash at dinner time on Thursday evening around 6:00, of course you are welcome to arrive anytime after 3:00. If you do arrive early we might just put you to work.
Here are a few changes that you should be aware of regarding the Retreat:
  • Glenna's Snow Globe will be taught on Friday at 3:00 pm. If need be, you will finish it after dinner
  • Betty's Snow Owl will not be taught, she will have patterns and instructions for the two who signed up.
  • Judy will teach the three tree nativity all day Friday. There is still room and there are wood pieces available
  • BYOB - we will have bottled water there however if you need any loaded liquids please bring your own, that way we won't have left over drinks to dispose of.
Looks like it is going to be a beautiful weekend for us in the mountains of Midway.
A HUGE shout out to JoLynn for letting us use her beautiful family home once again.
See y'all on Thursday, drive safe and bring your party mojo!

June Newsletter

Hi Ladies.
I can’t believe it is June already.
I am hoping everyone had the chance to look at and sign up for retreat projects. I haven’t seen the sign-up sheets yet, but I hope everyone had a chance to see the projects and hopefully come and join us at retreat. Those toads are “toad-ally” cute!
Our meeting in May was great. We had quite a few UFO’s being worked on and Betty V. taught us the finger crochet scarves, which I have made several of since then. Totally fun! I love hanging out with such fun and crafty women. I feel like I always learn something new.
Our retreat is this month and there are some neat projects to do. If you didn't sign up for anything, hopefully you can come up and spend some time just hanging out. You couldn't ask for a nicer group of women to laugh and have fun with.
We are going to do a July Meeting for those wishing to attend. I know it is a busy month, but we will be meeting on July 21, which is our normal Saturday, to make fascinators. Kay wore her fascinator to the May meeting and it was just fun. She will be helping us make them for this July meeting, if you would like to participate. You will need to bring your own glue gun and glue sticks and whatever bling you want to put in your fascinator. ( ribbon, bows, feathers, flowers, bling, etc..) Kay had a really cute paper teacup on her fascinator. I can’t wait to see what everyone comes up with.
Happy painting and I look forward to seeing everyone again.

May's UFO Meeting

We had so much fun at this meeting. I think we all needed some time to paint together and visit with no pressure. This was a real brain scrubber.

Betty VanPelt taught us how to do finger crochet. We learned how to crochet an infinity scarf using one skein of yarn. Accepting the fact that we are all in our forties (with a few years added) we couldn't just jump into this intense project without warming up and doing some finger calisthenics.
Gail and Linda are ready to go

Roberta was wondering why?
Look at all of these scarves that Betty has made, trust me, this is not all of them!
Betty's handiwork. Need a gift? Give Betty a call!

Paint? Oh yes, we did paint! There was a myriad of unfinished projects brought and worked on, and the miracle of it all - some even got finished!

Thanks to all who supported this UFO - it was a blast. Don't forget to join us at our annual retreat in just a few weeks. Life doesn't get much better than painting at JoLynn's beautiful summer mountain home.  Many thanks to her for her continual hospitality and support of our group.
